Together Worship
Grades 4 & 5 Promoted to Adult Worship
August 28, 2011
If your child promoted into 4th or 5th grade this past August 28, then they promoted into Adult Worship as well. It is such a great opportunity for families to worship God together as well as support parents to be the primary faith trainers of their children. As you listen to sermons together, you can use the faith talk guidelines provided for you each Sunday and also discuss with your child the God moments as they arise.
Following is the Sunday morning schedule for fall 2011 for children grades 1-5.

RESPONSE FROM PARENTS
How do I make the choice between worshiping with my child at 9:30 or 11:00?
1. Consider these factors
- What hour is your current ABF?
- How will other siblings effect this choice?
- Would your child like to attend with friends? If so, coordinate with the friend's parents.
- Remember the new Loft Worship service at 9:30
2. Make a family decision and stick with it!

Below are some tips that will help your 4th or 5th grader promote to Adult Worship.
- Sit Together in Worship
- You are the model. Be authentically you. (Primary Faith Trainer)
- You are in charge. Communicate what is appropriate and what isn't.
- Stay Involved. Participate and help them participate in every aspect of worship (praying, singing, offering, listening)
- Personalize it. Help your kids learn who the people on stage are. (Pastor Alex preaches, Josh Stewart leads music, etc.)
- Use your Bible. Teach and model using your Bible to follow the sermon.
- Take Note: Notes are good. Help your child learn to take notes -- don't worry if they doodle.
- Apply it. Talk about what you learned over lunch after the service. Utilize the faith talk sheet given each week.
- Potty break. Take your children to the bathroom before the worship service begins and if the need still arises, avoid leaving during the sermon and teach them the least distracting way out.
- Relax. Kids are kids -- grace abounds. Teaching your child may take a while.
