Single Parent Families
We see a ministry at Kingsland where single parents find encouragement, community and safety to grow in Christ. A ministry geared toward the whole family, both parent and child. A place where children are mentored, families have community, practical needs are met and a place where single parents are not isolated but integrated into the larger family of the church. We see fellowships for adults, outings with the kids and Bible study for both. We see this ministry as effectively meeting the needs of single parent families inside our church and an effective outreach to un-churched families in our community. Ultimately, we desire to have single parents loving God and loving people by fully experiencing Life in Christ; parents whom although single are effectively the primary faith trainers of their kids and sharing God Moments as life happens.
Sunday Morning
At Kingsland we first seek to fully integrate single parents into the life of our church family. This begins on Sunday morning at the 9:30 A.M. Mosaic Adult Bible Fellowship Class.
9:30 A.M. Mosaic ABF - Rm. L 244/46
Mosaic is an Adult Bible Fellowship for anyone committed to the journey of living Life in Christ (Milestone 7). We gather without regard for life stage, including age, race, background, marital status or children. Mosaic is a place for single parents because it is designed to provide a multi-generational perspective of applied biblical truth as a foundation for an abundant life lived in fully integrated biblical community. We believe the environment provided in Mosaic will most effectively nurture, love, and equip single parents to live Life in Christ.
From this class you will find all other environments we have in place specifically for single parents, such as, quarterly connection lunch, small groups for Bible study, outings with the kids, fellowships for adults, mentoring relationships for children, and ways to be served practically. Each of these is done specifically for singles parents and is led by our Single Parent Ministry.
Connection Lunch
Every quarter we meet from 12:30-2:00 P.M. This is our main place to connect as a ministry. During this time we seek to accomplish several things, including, 1) free meal to bless your family, 2) encouraging word and blessing from one of our pastors, 3) activity to build community amongst our families, 4) practical encouragement from our singles pastor, 4) information about upcoming ministries within our ministry and throughout Kingsland. We have activities for kids after the meal and during our meeting.
For information on our next meeting, email Brian Stone.

Ways to be Served Practically
Our church has a heart to serve single parent families and our ministry is in contact with many resources available to you. While we cant always meet every request, please let us know your need and we will use all our resources to serve you and your family as best we can. We encourage single parents to participate in all aspects of our ministry as we take an all-encompassing approach to spiritual growth. We believe that if single parents are engaged in a multi-generational community, are in the habit of connecting with other single parent families, and are actively being served by our church family, they will more deeply experience Life in Christ and as a result grow in their love for God, love for people and effectiveness in equipping the generations.
Free Babysitting
Here is a portion of the email I received:
“Hello! My name is Kassie Ruocco. I’m a junior at Taylor High School. Recently I have been thinking about trying to organize a group of girls, probably my lifegroup, to join with me in volunteering our time to babysit for any families at our church who aren’t able to afford a babysitter. I want to give back to the church in any way I can and I would just love to do this with people from church. I talked to Trisha about this and she likes it. She told me to contact you and ask you of any families or single moms or dads at our church that would need our help.”
If you are interested let me know and I will connect you with Kassie.
Car Care
The Car Care Clinic is designed for seniors, single parents, and people on fixed or limited incomes. We will also help anyone in need, even if it is just for information. The Clinics are held the fourth Saturday of the month (except Nov/Dec). Call Pat Perry at (407) 810-4550 Mobile to notify him of your needs before the clinic.
Saturday Bible Studies
Jan Grelle will lead Moms though a Bible study periodically throughout the year.
Mentoring Relationships for Children
We are in the process of starting this new ministry. We are partnering with Big Brother Big Sisters to facilitate implementing this ministry and with guidance in approving mentors, matching kids, and providing low cost activities that build the mentoring relationship. Email
Brian Stone for more information or to sign up to participate.
