Marriage Preparation

Marriage Preparation is a key first step in building a healthy, Christ-centered marriage that will last a lifetime. Preparing for committing your life to another person for the journey is both necessary and effective.

Getting Married at Kingsland

Kingsland is a great place to get married. We have 2 venues to choose from. Our worship center seats 1,129 people and has all the sound and  technical capability that may be needed. Our most unique venue is the garden. This is a beautiful outdoor wedding locale that can host about 30 people. The beautiful fountain and lush landscape make for a very intimate setting.

If you are interested in being married on campus at Kingsland you need to be aware of a few things:

  • We place emphasis on the importance of scheduling the wedding as far in advance as possible (though not more than 1 year in advance).
  • A couple is eligible to be married at Kingsland when the bride, groom, parents, or guardian is a member of Kingsland; or, if the bride or groom is a former member of Kingsland who no longer lives in the Katy area, i.e., college students.
  • We DO NOT schedule weddings or wedding receptions on Sundays, Holidays/Holiday weekends, or during the month of December.
  • A premarital workshop or pre-marriage counseling is required for all couples who desire to be married at Kingsland.
  • Rental Fees include facility rental, KBC wedding coordinator and sound/lights technician. Pastor, music, florist, etc. Fees are separate and payable to the individual providing the service.
  • Contact Gay Waltrip to set up a consultation

Covenant Marriage

According to the Bible, marriage is a covenant agreement between one man, one woman, and God for the duration of life. A covenant is much different than a contract. A contract is by definition based on distrust. It is designed to protect individual parties in the event that one or the other of the parties does not fulfill the original agreement. Marriage is not a contract, but a covenant. A covenant is based on trust. A covenant agreement is made at the beginning of married life based on trust in God and His design for the family found in Genesis chapter 2. We take this covenant seriously in model and in message at Kingsland. Therefore, we design proactive ministry to help married couples understand and uphold the covenant they have made together with God.
