KBC Vision Statement

WE ARE A CHURCH that God graciously birthed in 1977 in the middle of a neighborhood named Nottingham Country and on a street named Kingsland. The King’s Land. In light of this, Kingsland’s Quest is the same as God’s quest for humanity. A Quest being an adventurous journey or pursuit as by a knight in a medieval romance. We are now participants in the grandest love story ever told. Our Creator pursues us His created ones in order to have relationship with us. That relationship begins and continues with the One who pursued us all the way to the Cross, Jesus Christ.

WE SEE A CHURCH that welcomes all those on this journey. A place where the hurting and the hopeless as well as the healthy and the whole can grow under the love of Christ. A place where we recognize that we’re all pilgrims on this journey called life. A church where the Savior makes us a family. A place where every soul senses the love of his pursuer the moment he steps foot on this campus.

WE SEE A CHURCH that loves God with all its heart, soul, and mind. A church that worships not in only in song and scripture but also with its very life. It’s our dream to see the Lord fully develop this campus on Kingsland Boulevard, maximizing every square inch as good stewards of this land to reach Katy and West Houston. We see a campus that will enable us to worship together by the thousands and yet provide ample, creative, and thematic space for our preschool, children, students, and adults to do life together in small group Bible study as well.

We see the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy and Christ Himself…“my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

WE SEE A CHURCH that loves people through ministry, helping people discover their God-given personality, passions, and spiritual gifts so that they can participate and not spectate. And by this discovery unleashing the church family to joyfully minister inside and outside the church. A place where the Pastoral team equips the church to do the work of the ministry. (Eph 4) A church that meets the needs of the community...physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

WE SEE A CHURCH that loves people through evangelism and missions. A place where evangelism happens naturally and powerfully through relationships, where members are challenged to always be in relationship with at least one neighbor, family member, or coworker who has not yet trusted Christ.

A church that reaches out to the multi-housing community in Katy and mobilizes our members to serve as our "Jerusalem missionaries" by building relationships with their neighbors.

As a church that participates in the Great Commission, we will continue to birth daughter churches as quickly as the Lord provides the people and resources. It’s our dream to purchase land in far west Katy to give to one of these daughter churches in the future. We see a church where all our members are challenged to participate annually in a short term mission project here in Katy and West Houston, the state of Texas, or around the world. We also see a church sending hundreds of career missionaries and Christian workers around the world.

A church that financially supports missions and missionaries here and around the globe.

A church that aggressively expands its Recreation Ministry for the purpose of using sports to build relationships with the community.

WE SEE A CHURCH that loves people through fellowship. A family that refuses to settle for inch deep relationships but rather one that leads people to discover the joy and strength that comes from deep, intimate friendships. We see small groups experiencing biblical community. A place that encourages people to find balance and simplicity in their schedules to make that kind of intimacy and transparency possible.
