Kingsland Baptist Church

In October of 1977, Tallowood Baptist Church established Kingsland Baptist Mission with 25 families meeting in the Nottingham Country Day School. Hollie Atkinson was called to be the first pastor of Kingsland Baptist Mission in February of 1978.

As the membership grew to just over 200 members, the mission moved to Memorial Parkway Elementary and 14.5 acres were purchased on the Kingsland Boulevard site. The first building was completed in 1980 and in the following year, Kingsland Baptist Mission became Kingsland Baptist Church with 385 charter members and 569 enrolled in Sunday school.

God has certainly blessed the vision and commitment of those 25 families who established Kingsland Baptist Church. Today Kingsland Baptist Church is thriving. Alex Kennedy became the Senior Pastor in April 2003, and we are excited to be under his leadership. New families are joining the Kingsland family weekly and we have enjoyed large numbers of baptisms in recent months. God is at work and we believe our brightest days are ahead.
